Orange County posts its whole fee schedule, which makes it the easiest of the five counties to plan a dump run in. The landfill on Young Pine Road, east of Orlando, takes everything from garbage to construction debris to asbestos. The two transfer stations are closer to the west and southwest side of the county, where Rob's Horizon West, Windermere and Winter Garden customers are, but they take fewer materials: Porter turns away construction debris, and McLeod Road turns away tires and construction debris.
Two rules cost people money at the gate. Every load must be covered, or the fee doubles. And the small-vehicle drop-off only takes vehicle-and-trailer combinations under 30 feet.

When a hauler beats the free option in Orange County
Orange County's gate prices are honest and low: a pickup bed of garbage is usually the $9 minimum or a little over, and paint and chemicals are free. If the pile is at the curb and you have a truck, a tarp and a Saturday, go. The math changes when the load is furniture and a fridge inside a Horizon West house, when it's more than a couple of pickup trips, or when it's construction debris on the west side, because Porter and McLeod Road both refuse it and the landfill is across the county.
