Rob doesn't claim all of Tampa, and this page won't either. What's in reach is the I-4 corridor: the interstate comes in from Plant City past Mango and East Lake-Orient Park, then runs along the north edge of Ybor City to the downtown interchange with I-275. East Ybor sits between Adamo Drive and I-4, from Ybor City out to 39th Street. That stretch, plus the neighborhoods just off it, is east Tampa for Rob's purposes.
The housing is old by Florida standards. Ybor and East Tampa have early-1900s frame houses and cigar-worker cottages. Seminole Heights, west of I-275, has bungalows from 1911 on. Mango and Orient Park out toward the county line are mid-century ranch homes and small lots. These are houses with attics, back sheds and decades of contents.
