Out past the subdivisions, Polk County still has lots that were pasture or grove once and are palmetto and oak scrub now: Polk City, Lake Wales, Dundee, Frostproof, Fort Meade and the roads around Davenport. Somebody buys one, or inherits one, and needs a piece of it usable: a spot for a shed, a pad, a driveway from the road to the house site, or just enough cleared to see what they own. That's the size of job Rob takes. Twenty acres of timber isn't.
Rob brings the compact track loader with the grapple and bucket. Palmetto and undergrowth get pushed and piled. Small trees and palms come out. Downed timber gets stacked. Then it all goes in the dump trailer instead of sitting in a pile by the road for a month. Big trees near a house or power lines should come down by a tree service first; Rob hauls the trunks after.

Rob will tell you if your job is the kind that usually needs a permit. Once the lot is open, he can grade a pad or driveway level while the machine is already there.

How much of a lot can you clear?
A residential lot's worth of palmetto, scrub, small trees and palms. Big timber, heavy stumps and multi-acre tracts are a clearing contractor's job, not a compact track loader's. Send photos and a map pin and Rob will tell you straight which one yours is.
Do I need a permit to clear my lot in Polk County?
Sometimes. Protected trees and wetlands have rules, and cities differ. Check with Polk County or your city first. Rob will say if your job looks like one that usually needs a permit, but the permit is yours.
What happens to the debris?
It goes in the dump trailer and off the property the same visit. If you'd rather keep a burn pile or mulch on site, tell Rob when you book.
Can you level the pad after clearing?
Yes. Light grading for a shed pad, driveway or drainage swale is done with the same machine while it's on site. Engineered grading or septic work is a different contractor.
