Pasture and acre lots outside Mascotte

Mascotte is the far edge of Rob's Lake County map. A mile off SR-50 it's still old pasture and acre lots with a block house, a lean-to and a fence gone to oak saplings and vines. Families who've been here since the citrus days sell off a corner, or a new owner wants the back of the lot opened for a barn. Either way it's brush, small trees and fence line, and that's what the grapple is built for.

The machine does the pushing and piling. Palmetto and vines come up in sheets. Fence posts and wire get pulled and stacked. Small oaks come out root ball and all. It all goes in the dump trailer instead of onto the burn pile, which is the point for most people who call: the pile was already too big to burn.

New-subdivision lots on the north end

The subdivisions on the north end of town went up on cow pasture, and the next phase is always sitting there with a brush pile and stumps on it. A builder or a new homeowner with an unfinished lot calls for the pile and the stumps gone before the fence goes in. Rob loads it with the grapple and, if the lot needs a rough level, runs the bucket over it before he leaves. Dirt to raise a low spot is quoted separately through partner dump trucks.

Quoting and scheduling a Mascotte clearing job

Rob won't promise same day at 40 road miles and an hour from the yard, and he says so on the phone. Mascotte gets grouped with Groveland, Minneola and Clermont, usually a day or two out, with the machine and the trailer on one trip. Text photos and a video of the lot and he quotes flat before anything moves: $350 for a half trailer of debris, $700 for a full, skid steer time in the number.
