Grading & Leveling in Central Florida

Once a lot is cleared, it's rarely flat. Root holes, ruts, a slope toward the house instead of away from it. Grading is the step that makes the ground ready for what you're putting on it: a shed pad that sits level, a driveway base that doesn't wash out, a low corner of the yard that stops turning into a pond every afternoon in August.

Rob does this with the skid steer bucket. Cut the high side, fill the low side, roll it, check it. For a driveway, that means spreading and leveling the base so whatever goes on top goes down even. A customer who had Rob remove a concrete driveway wrote that the next step was gravel in the driveway and they were going to have him do that too. Simple swales to move water off a pad are the same idea.

What this isn't: engineered site prep, septic drainfield grading, retention ponds or anything drawn up by an engineer and inspected by the county. Those jobs need a site contractor with the paper. Rob will tell you on the first call if what you're describing is his kind of grading or theirs.
