Small Dumpster Rental in Davenport, FL: Skip the Roll-Off

When someone searches "small dumpster rental" near Davenport, they usually mean this: I have a pile bigger than a pickup, I don't want a giant steel box on my street, and I don't want to pay for space I won't use. Fair. Here's what a small roll-off actually is, why my 14-yard dump trailer is the small option in Polk County, and what it costs.

What is a "10-yard dumpster," really?

A roll-off dumpster is a steel container with rails on the bottom. It rides on a truck with a hoist and a cable, and the driver slides it off backward onto your pavement. A 10-yard can is the smallest size most roll-off companies list. It's still a steel box that needs that truck to set it and pick it up, and the truck needs a straight run of room to do it. Small in yards doesn't mean small on the ground.

I don't own roll-offs, and I'm not going to quote you what another company charges for one. Call them for that. What I can tell you is what mine costs and where it fits.

Why is a dump trailer the small option?

Because it arrives behind a pickup. No hoist, no cable, no steel rails on your driveway. I back it in, unhook, and drive off. When you're done, I hook up and haul it.

That middle row is the one that matters in Davenport. Solterra, Providence, the subdivisions off US-27, the older lots in Loughman with a gate. A trailer goes where the pickup goes: a driveway, not a street.

What does the small trailer cost?

The 14-yard is $350. That's 3 days and 2 tons, and the number covers the drop, the pickup and the landfill fee. A fourth or fifth day is $40 each. If the load weighs over 2 tons, it's $70 per ton on the card I keep on file. If you want the bigger trailer, the 16-yard is $400 with the same 3 days and 2 tons.

Two things never go in either trailer: concrete and dirt. I have partner dump trucks and recyclers for those and quote them per job. Tile is allowed, but it carries an extra dump-fee charge because the facility charges me more for it.

Is a 14-yard trailer too big for my job?

Maybe. Here's the honest test. I wrote up what fits in a 14-yard trailer with the pickup-bed math. If your pile is one couch, one fridge, a bedroom set, or a single corner of the garage, don't rent anything. That's a single item from $125 or a quarter trailer at $225 with my crew loading it, and you never touch it. The rental starts making sense when the pile is a half trailer or more, or when the debris comes out over several days and you'd rather load it as you go.

What if my pile is small but heavy?

Then weight is your number, not volume. A small pile of tile, shingles or wet lumber can hit 2 tons with the trailer half empty. Tell me what's going in before I drop it and I'll say where the line lands.

How fast can I get one?

Same day most days when you're near Davenport, Haines City, Poinciana, Kissimmee or the Four Corners area. I run two trucks and four dump trailers, so one is usually free. • Tell me if there's a gate, a tight turn or a soft yard. A photo of the spot settles it.
• Nothing above the top rail. I have to tarp it and tow it legally.
• Keep the hazardous stuff off: paint, oil, propane, pool chemicals, batteries.
• The day you want it gone, call. I pick it up and you never see the landfill.
