Lakeland's core is older than anything else on Rob's map, and the trees match. The early-1900s homes ringing Lake Morton and the bungalows on Dixieland's brick streets sit under live oaks that were big when the houses were built. They drop limbs the size of small trees after a thunderstorm, and the lots are narrow, with a shed under the canopy and a garage off the alley.

That's dump-trailer work, not roll-off work. The trailer follows a pickup down a brick street and into a tight drive, the crew carries the limbs out from the back of the lot, and the whole crown of an oak rides as it came down. Nobody saws it into four-foot lengths first. Root balls and cut rounds count in the load.

From Lakeland that's a long haul for a couple of loads, and the tonnage on Rob's trailer is already in the flat number. He stacks Lakeland jobs: a big estate or yard in the morning, smaller pickups on the way back east.
