Same-Day Junk Removal: How It Actually Works in Polk County

People read the Google reviews and call me asking the same thing: how did you get to that lady's house in 20 minutes? The honest answer is geography and two trucks. Here's how a same-day call actually plays out at Big Rob's, and when it's realistically tomorrow.

What do the reviews actually say?

I didn't write these times. Customers did.

That's the whole range: 20 minutes to a day. Every one of them is a five-star review. The 24-hour one is as happy as the 20-minute one, because I told each of them what to expect and then did it.

Why does 20 minutes happen?

Because the yard is in Davenport and the trucks work a tight loop. Most mornings a truck is somewhere between Haines City, Loughman, ChampionsGate, Four Corners, Poinciana and Kissimmee. If you call from a Davenport subdivision while a truck is finishing a pickup ten minutes away, you're next. That's it. No dispatch software, no magic. Two trucks, a small area, and a phone that I answer myself.

Single items help too. A couch, a mattress, a fridge on the porch: those slide in between bigger jobs without knocking anyone else back. Half a house full of furniture doesn't. So a small job called in at 10 a.m. from Haines City is the classic 20-minute story.

Why is it sometimes tomorrow?

Three reasons, and I'll tell you which one it is when you call.

1. Distance. Lakeland, Clermont, west Orlando and Brandon are 45 minutes to over an hour from the yard. I can't promise 20 minutes there and I won't. Those get scheduled, usually next day, and I group them so the drive stays fair.
2. The trucks are full. Some days both trucks are on multi-load cleanouts by 9 a.m. Then even a Davenport call is afternoon or next morning.
3. The job is big. A whole-house cleanout wants two trailers and a full crew. I'd rather book it for tomorrow morning and do it right than squeeze it in at 4 p.m. and run out of daylight.

What can you do to get the fast version?

• Call before noon. Morning calls get the most options. By early afternoon I'm often placing calls into tomorrow.
• Text a photo of the pile. I quote from photos in a few minutes. That shaves time off the front end.
• Have it accessible. Garage open, gate code shared, or the item on the driveway. If you can't be home, that's fine; tell me where it is and how you'll pay.
• Say if it truly can't wait. A closing, a tenant moving in, a fridge leaking on the floor. I'll move things around when I can.

Does same-day cost more?

No. There's no rush fee at Big Rob's. The flat rate is by load size, quoted before I touch anything, and it's the same whether I get there in 20 minutes or at 9 tomorrow. Cheryl wrote that she didn't have a huge amount to haul and we still kept the price exactly the same, no bait and switch. Same policy on timing.
